Community Guidelines

1. Respectful Conduct

Treat all members of the community with respect and courtesy. We expect users to engage in constructive and positive interactions.

• No harassment, bullying, intimidation, or personal attacks
• No discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• No hate speech, slurs, or derogatory language
• Respect others' boundaries and consent in all interactions

2. Appropriate Content

All content shared on Realm VTT must be appropriate for a general audience unless explicitly marked otherwise.

Prohibited Content:

• Pornographic, sexually explicit, or gratuitously violent imagery
• Content depicting or promoting illegal activities
• Gore, graphic violence, or content designed to shock or disturb
• Content that sexualizes minors in any way
• Malware, phishing links, or other harmful content

Game Masters running games with mature themes (18+) must clearly label their game listings with appropriate content warnings.

3. Looking For Group (LFG) Board Guidelines

The LFG board is designed to help players and Game Masters find each other. To maintain a positive experience:

• Post accurate and honest descriptions of your game or what you're looking for
• Do not spam or post duplicate listings
• Do not use the LFG board for advertising unrelated services or products
• Clearly indicate if your game is paid or free
• Include relevant details such as game system, schedule, experience level, and any content warnings
• Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner

4. Game Listings and Promotional Materials

All game listings, thumbnails, and promotional materials must adhere to the following standards:

• No adult, sexually suggestive, or explicit imagery in thumbnails or banners
• No misleading or false advertising about game content
• No use of copyrighted material without proper authorization
• Titles and descriptions must not contain offensive language or slurs

5. User Profiles and Display Names

Your profile and display name represent you within our community:

• Display names must not contain slurs, offensive language, or impersonate other users or public figures
• Profile images must not contain explicit, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Do not use your profile to harass or target other users

6. Intellectual Property

Respect the intellectual property rights of others:

Personal Campaign Use:

• You may upload or manually enter content you own into your campaigns for use with your own gaming table
• Fair use principles apply to content used within private campaigns

Marketplace Publishing:

• You may only publish content to the Marketplace if you own it or have a license from the rights holder
• Licensed content from publishers with Realm VTT agreements is published by Realm VTT or designated community contributors
• Do not claim ownership of content created by others
• Publishing copyrighted content to the Marketplace without proper authorization is strictly prohibited
• Report any suspected copyright infringement to support@realmvtt.com

7. No Spam or Self-Promotion

• Do not spam the platform with repetitive or irrelevant content
• Self-promotion should be limited to appropriate areas (such as game listings for your own games)
• Do not use Realm VTT to promote external services, products, or platforms unrelated to tabletop gaming

8. Privacy and Personal Information

• Do not share personal information about others without their consent (doxxing)
• Protect your own personal information and be cautious about what you share publicly
• Do not attempt to solicit personal information from other users

9. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it:

• Use the Contact Support form within the application at play.realmvtt.com
• Include links or other evidence when possible

All reports are reviewed by our team and handled confidentially. We do not tolerate retaliation against users who report violations in good faith.

10. Enforcement

Violations of these Community Guidelines may result in:

• Warning or notice of violation
• Temporary suspension of account features
• Removal of offending content
• Permanent account suspension or termination
• Reporting to law enforcement in cases of illegal activity

The severity of enforcement actions depends on the nature and frequency of violations. Realm VTT reserves the right to take any action we deem appropriate to maintain the safety and integrity of our platform.

11. Changes to Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
