The Future of Tabletop Gaming is Here
Let's face it — most virtual tabletops out there are stuck in the past. Clunky interfaces, laggy gameplay, frustrating setups, and a serious lack of innovation have left gamers waiting for something better for far too long. That's exactly why we created Realm VTT. We wanted to build a platform that actually works the way you want it to — smooth, modern, and focused on what really matters: the game.
Built for Speed, Designed for Play
Realm VTT is designed for Game Masters and players who are tired of wrestling with outdated tech and just want to jump into their campaigns and have fun. Performance was a priority from day one. Maps load quickly, tokens move smoothly, and the interface stays out of your way so you can focus on the story unfolding at your table. If you have ever lost half a session to a VTT crashing or stuttering during a pivotal combat round, you know why this matters.
From an integrated, 3D Dice Roller right in the chat and character sheets to dynamic lighting and Fog of War that bring your maps to life, every feature is built to enhance immersion and keep things moving. You can see how Realm VTT compares to other options in our Top 3 Roll20 Alternatives in 2026 breakdown.
Full D&D 5e Support with Free SRD Content
We support the latest D&D 5e rules — with free SRD content — so you can start building characters, running encounters, and managing campaigns right away without paying for basic ruleset access. Character sheets are fully interactive, with built-in rolls, ability checks, saving throws, and spell management that handle the math for you.
If you want to play something unique, you can fully customize your own ruleset using our ruleset editor. We are also working hard to bring other licensed content to the platform. In the meantime, we are offering independent publishers the ability to bring their own content to the platform without taking a platform fee for a limited time.
What Makes Realm VTT Different
There are a lot of virtual tabletops out there, and we think it is fair to ask what makes Realm VTT worth your time. Here is what sets us apart:
Everything in One Place
Most VTTs handle the map and dice, then leave you to figure out the rest. Realm VTT includes everything you need to run a smooth campaign in a single platform: journals, combat trackers, calendars, custom macros, and a chat system that keeps everyone connected. There is no need to bolt on third-party tools for basic functionality.
A Built-In LFG Board
Finding a group should not require a separate website. Our Looking for Games board lets players browse and join campaigns, and lets GMs post games, review applications, and even get paid to host sessions — all without leaving the platform.
Flexible Grid Options
Whether you prefer hex or square grids, Realm VTT supports both along with isometric options. You can also use our Canvas Scenes feature to sketch maps on the fly during a session — perfect for improvised encounters or old-school dungeon crawls.
Multi-System Support
Realm VTT is not locked to a single game system. Alongside D&D 5e, we have full Pathfinder 2e support with free ORC-licensed content, and our custom ruleset editor means you can build support for virtually any tabletop RPG.
A Marketplace for Creators
Independent publishers and content creators can share and sell their work through the Realm VTT marketplace. Maps, modules, token packs, and adventures are all available for GMs to drop directly into their campaigns.
